The Other World
In Irish folklore, stories of returning from the Otherworld often depict a realm of enchantment and timelessness, where mortals can visit but often face consequences upon their return to the mortal world. These tales frequently involve heroes or individuals being drawn into the Otherworld, sometimes by choice, sometimes by force, and then facing the challenges of re-integrating into their own time. We return home often enough to find that what was once familiar is just as alien as the land we left.
